A unidade \u00e9 voltada ao atendimento especializado da popula\u00e7\u00e3o com 60 anos ou mais e come\u00e7ou a funcionar por meio do sistema de regula\u00e7\u00e3o da rede p\u00fablica de sa\u00fade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">De acordo com Luiz Vasconcelos, a defesa dos direitos da pessoa idosa e a garantia do acesso \u00e0 sa\u00fade est\u00e3o entre as \u00e1reas de atua\u00e7\u00e3o do Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico, institui\u00e7\u00e3o que tem, entre suas atribui\u00e7\u00f5es constitucionais, a defesa dos interesses sociais e individuais indispon\u00edveis. Por isso, para ele, foi importante o MPAL estar presente \u00e0 solenidade, o que lhe permitiu conferir a estrutura da unidade de sa\u00fade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Para o procurador de Justi\u00e7a, a oferta de atendimento especializado \u00e9 importante diante das necessidades pr\u00f3prias do envelhecimento: \u201cA aten\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 pessoa idosa exige cuidado, dignidade e respeito. O acesso \u00e0 sa\u00fade \u00e9 um direito fundamental, e uma assist\u00eancia especializada pode contribuir para que esse atendimento considere as necessidades e as particularidades de cada pessoa. O Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico tem o dever constitucional de atuar na defesa desses direitos e acompanhar a efetiva\u00e7\u00e3o das pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas destinadas \u00e0 popula\u00e7\u00e3o idosa\u201d, disse ele.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Luiz Vasconcelos tamb\u00e9m acrescentou que, segundo dados oficiais do estado, Alagoas tem mais de 450 mil idosos, o que justifica, para o Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico, a entrega de um equipamento destinado especificamente para cuidar da pessoa idosa, oferecendo a elas tratamentos em diferentes n\u00edveis de necessidade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Estrutura<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">O hospital tem 56 leitos, sendo 20 de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), al\u00e9m de atendimento em diferentes especialidades e servi\u00e7os de sa\u00fade. A estrutura disp\u00f5e de geriatria, cardiologia, psiquiatria, psicologia, fisioterapia e hidroterapia, entre outras \u00e1reas de assist\u00eancia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">A unidade tamb\u00e9m conta com piscina aquecida para atividades de hidroterapia e espa\u00e7os destinados \u00e0 assist\u00eancia multiprofissional. O atendimento ser\u00e1 realizado a partir da regula\u00e7\u00e3o dos pacientes pela rede p\u00fablica, considerando o perfil e as necessidades de cada pessoa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">O Hospital do Idoso est\u00e1 localizado na Avenida Durval de G\u00f3es Monteiro, no Tabuleiro do Martins, parte alta de Macei\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Fotos<\/strong>: Marco Ant\u00f4nio &#8211;
